La Pampa: A Trophy Seekers’ Paradise
La Pampa Region, Argentina, is a popular destination for those looking to hunt trophies. The best time to go hunting for Red Stags is from March to July, when they can be seen with their impressive antlers and often gathering near water holes for their mating ritual known as "brama".
When heading for the hunt, you can expect to harvest stags’ trophies in the 300-320 SCI class, with an average antler of 7x7 points and nice crowns. During the heat of the day, the stags often visit water holes to bathe in the water or mud, making these spots ideal for hunting. La Pampa is a prime destination for hunting as the terrain is more level than Patagonia, offering a better range while you enjoy the beauty of south Central Argentina.

Your week in La Pampa - El Carrizal Lodge
How will you get to Carrizal Lodge for your most memorable father-and-son experience?
We offer transport from and to the airport during your stay at our El Carrizal Lodge in La Pampa Region. Your first day in Argentina will consist of traveling from Buenos Aires International Airport to the domestic airport in Buenos Aires, where you will take your next flight to Bahia Blanca.
Our hostesses will assist you in all your traveling, assuring transport in Buenos Aires and from Bahia Blanca to the hunting lodge in La Pampa. Once you arrive, we’ll help you settle in, serve lunch, and, if time allows, get some afternoon hunting so you can get the most as possible of your father and son experience.
The following five days will be all about hunting and creating everlasting father and son memories, with not only shooting but also gourmet meals and experiencing the whole process of preparation of the trophies.
Day seven is usually the day of departure, so we will assist you in traveling back to Buenos Aires. If you want to taste more of Argentinian culture, our bilingual hostesses can organize tours and take you around Buenos Aires for a night or two.

If you're planning to go on a Red Stag hunt, it's important to pack the right gear and clothing for the tough terrain. For shooting different animals, you'll need specific rifles such as 7 mm RM or 300 WM for plains game and 375 HH or larger for water buffalo. You can use 20 Ga. semi-automatic rifles for bird and dove shooting. Don't worry if you don't have your own equipment, our lodges offer high-quality rental rifles and shotguns. We also provide premium ammunition to ensure you have the best experience.
