Blackbucks are some of the fastest animals in the world. They can run as fast as 50 miles per hour and are considered to be the second fastest animal in the world, next to the Cheetah. Many hunters who hunt Blackbucks prefer the still hunting method. This method consists of waiting within shooting distance of a spot where you know Blackbucks will pass. Blackbucks are commonly found in cattle breeding areas, so that is a great area to set up and wait for a herd to pass. 

Similar to other large game species, the hunting season in Argentina for Blackbucks lasts from March to November. Blackbucks are diurnal animals, which means that they are mainly active during the day. This activity tends to slow down around noon, especially as the days start to get hotter around the summer months. If hunting during summer, it is best to go out during the morning hours while the Blackbucks are at their most active.

Blackbucks are about 29-33 inches tall. Males can weigh anywhere from 44–126 pounds, while females are smaller and generally weigh anywhere from 44–73 pounds. While the males are the ones with the long, ringed, spiral horns, some females can actually develop horns as well. Male blackbuck horns are long (14-30 inches) and ringed.
