March to November: El Carrizal La Pampa

The blackbuck (antelope cervicapra), also known as the Indian antelope, is an antelope found in India. The blackbuck is the sole extant member of the genus Antelope.  The blackbuck antelope was introduced to Argentina in the early 1920s and quickly became one of the most successful imports.  Blackbucks are small, weighing in at around 90 lbs. with jet black coats and straight spiraled horns.  The horns can sometimes make three or four complete turns and can measure up to 22 inches with exceptional trophies exceeding 22 inches.

March to November: El Carrizal La Pampa

Blackbuck populations have been as high as 10000 animals in Argentina.  Blackbucks are some of the fastest animals in the world.  The blackbucks have long ringed horns and these make beautiful mounts.  These animals are active mainly through the day when it is not summer.  Blackbucks tend to graze on low grasses and browse in forests.  Blackbucks need daily drinks of water and herds will often travel long distances if need be for water.
