THE HUNT

The Mixed Bag program in Entre Rios at Las Cortaderas has been a one of the gems South American Adventures Safaris has been delighting guests with year after year. It is a well-known program for its quality and variety of hunts. Being able to combine duck hunting, partridges, high volume doves and also an amazing pigeon hunt along with Dorado Fishing and then time for relaxing at the lodge are not something you get to see every day. This program proves to be the real wing shooting adventure!

THE LODGE

Estancia Cortaderas is one of the finest wing shooting and fishing lodges in the world.  It is located in the province of Entre Rios just north of Buenos Aires.  The lodge was built in the colonial style recalling a bygone era.  The lodge has all of the modern features of a small luxury hotel.  The lodge sits on a 150 foot cliff just above the massive Parana river offering breathtaking views of the river valley from all 10 of it’s spacious rooms.  The rooms have 2 queen size beds, heating and air conditioning, private bathes and patios with a view of the river valley.

Entering the Estancia lodge first takes you through the spacious gun room which is equipped with a gun rack and storage area for each hunter.  The gun room opens to the reception hall offering access ot the second floor.  The second floor includes the Estancia spa which is complete with a steam room, dry sauna, massage rooms and an indoor Jacuzzi with a view of the beautiful river valley.  The reception area also leads you to the elegant living room which is flanked by the bar and entertainment area on one side and the dining room on the other.  This is a lodge you will write home about.

THE FOOD

A long day of hunting or fishing will conclude with a return to the lodge which is well-equipped for the enjoyment of a relaxing day centered around telling the stories of the day.  The inviting fire in the fireplace and the full bar will help set the evening in motion as you begin to enjoy a diverse array of hors d’oeuvres.  Enstancia favorites include pepper stove dove breasts wrapped in bacon and grilled over wood coals, pigeon breast Milanesa(tenderized, breaded and deep fried), fried perdiz legs and a selection of cold cuts, local cheese along with a glass of wine or your favorite beverage.

Argentine wines are famous throughout the world and the Estania boasts a great selection of Argentina’s finest labels.  You may be surprised by how much you enjoy some of these great varietals like the robust Malbec or the Tannat.

In Argentina we eat dinner quite a bit later than in America.  This allows us a lengthy cocktail and social hour before dinner.  Dinner is always served on china with linen tablecloths in the Estancia dining room and will feature a three course gourmet meal.  We serve the finest grass fed beef in the world complemented by classic continental game dishes.  Our gourmet chef is well-versed in a number of specialties and takes great pride in showing off an array of Argentina’s rich culinary heritage.
